The Faith to Imagine

This song was written for Larry Cluff.

I love how it turned out! He sent me a poem and some thoughts about inspiration related to visualizing standing with the Savior at the end of our trials looking back at how we were able to get through the trial we're facing.

It takes great faith sometimes to do that - to imagine we've gotten through it - then use your mind to figure out how you were able to do it - it's definitely one more way to exercise faith - with your heart, your might - and your mind!!!

Verse 1
We carry our burden
With all our heart and might
It seems like a mountain
Impossible to climb
We feel weak and broken
We’re stuck in our way
As we call to God
who doesn’t seem to save
But if we could change our thinking
To give God our mind
It’s one idea that’s ready to be tried

Chorus 1
Imagine standing by the Savior
Looking back at all you’ve done!
As you rejoice with the Savior
At the trial you’ve overcome!
And God puts His loving arms around you
Rejoicing with you
You’ve overcome,
You did succeed
and now you’re filled with peace!

Verse 2
Sometimes we feel tempted
Above what we can bear
Addictions have set in
We feel such despair
At times, so unworthy
of God’s love and grace
But that’s when it’s time
to exercise our faith!

Chorus 2
Imagine standing by the Savior
Looking back at all you’ve done!
As you rejoice with the Savior
At the trial you’ve overcome!
Now imagine how you’ve overcome
The trial that you now face
This is another way of exercising faith!

Chorus 1 with Verse 2

This is another way (This is another way)
This is another way (This is another way)
This is another way of exercising faith!
