On This Father's Day

I wrote this song because of a request that was emailed to me. It was something I had already thought about doing for several years, and finally I felt it was time. I have been so grateful for good men out there who serve and bless, and in so many different capacities.

When I was born my Father held me in his arms
He kept me safe. He kept me warm.
Throughout the years, he worked and sacrificed for me.
With what was his, he gave to me.

Thank you for those many things you've done for me
For your loving arms around me
For protection from the storm
Because of you I want to live a better way
Thank you on this Father's Day

As I have grown,
My life has known great men of faith
Who share their love from day to day.
Bishops who serve, a husband giving me his best
They do God's will, and I've been blessed.

He is merciful and kind, and always showers me with love
