For the One Which Was Lost, Now is Found

Usually when I write a song, the music comes very quickly and easily, and I struggle to come up with lyrics that fit and are moving. This time the lyrics came so quickly to me and it was the music that I struggled with.

Still the whole song was written in a week, so that I could sing the song on the upcoming Sunday. The spirit was strong, and I struggled to sing the song without crying.

I think this song is a wonderful reminder of how much our Heavenly Father loves us, and wants us to return to him. He is our shepherd, and he wants all 100 sheep to return to the fold.

I hope you will enjoy this song, and that it will inspire hope and love. The music is available as both a vocal solo and as a women's arrangement (SSA)

If you were the shepherd of one hundred sheep
and then one sheep got lost in the cold
is there any doubt that you'd cry with relief
when the lost one returned to the fold.

A woman rejoiced, when she found her lost coin
She had searched and she'd looked all around
and even though none of the others were lost
she was glad when the tenth one was found

And likewise it is with our Father in Heaven,
when one of His children has strayed.
He loves everyone and He wants them to come
and repent so that all can be saved

A son left with half of his father's estate
but he spent it as quick as it came
Remorseful and sad, he repented and then
He returned to his father in shame.

But in that moment his child returned
what mercy and love did abound
For he reached for his child
and said, "Let us rejoice,
For the one which was lost, Now is found."

And likewise it is with our Father in Heaven,
when one of His children has strayed.
He loves everyone and He wants them to come
and repent so that all can be saved

And in that moment a child returns
what mercy and love will abound
For He'll reach for His child
and say, "Let us rejoice,
For the one which was lost, Now is found."

For the one which was lost, Now is found.
